What is the Dress Code?

Sutra likes to keep it laid back and sexy, but please keep your look sharp and cool. It’s not about what you wear but how you wear it. Women always get it right so, Men please don’t come wrong, you know the difference. Jeans and Sneakers are fine, nice shirts, NO baseball caps. Discretion is always left up to the door.

What is the Age Requirement?

Because of the law, everyone MUST be 21 years old or over with a valid photo I.D. to get in. NO EXCEPTIONS. Not even your 20 year old cousin who came all the way from Georgia just to celebrate with you.

What Train Can I Take to Get There?

You can take the ‘F’ train to the ’2ND AVE’ stop. Make sure to get out at the First Ave Exit, we are located diagonally across the street at 1st street and 1st ave.

Can I bring a Cake?

If you have a table or room reservation, you can bring cupcakes. We don’t allow cakes because they tend to be messy and require plates and forks. Trust Us.

Do You Host Fundraisers?

Sutra is HIGHLY supportive of not-for-profit and fundraising efforts. We are more than happy to open our door without charge and allow 100% of door proceeding to go to your organization. We do however require a minimal bar guarantee to ensure that our expenses are also covered. These types of events are booked in the early evenings; Monday- Thursday between 6-10pm. For more information please call us at 212.677.9477 or email us at
